Inter2Face will be represented at the conference BeMuseum, which takes place on October 20 at the Royal Library in Brussels. The topic is ‘The Museum in Troubled Times’. Come and see us during the TechBreaks.
Museums and exhibitions are indeed facing huge challenges. Visitors expect a contemporary experience, which generally involves the use of multimedia and interactive applications.
However, the energy bills keep rising. High operating costs can also be caused by an inefficient technical management, as staff members often lack the necessary technical skills.
Inter2Face has been working on this topic for many years, specializing in automated and energy efficient multimedia installations with our in house developed software.
Cornerstones of an (energy)efficient management are:
- Activating multimedia equipment and specific lighting only when needed.
- Visitor experience as an individual choice: “I want to experience/watch/listen to this now” versus a non-stop show. In daily life, the individual is used to deciding when and how he or she consumes information.
- A fully automated management of the installation, with remote control and -problem solving. Minimal responsibilities for untrained staff members.
What does that take?
- analysis and, if necessary, adapting the electric installation, creating a robust and logically switching network;
- central management of power, data, content and multimedia set-ups within one common structure.
What are the advantages?
- up to 25% reduction of energy consumption by activating equipment and specific lighting only when there are visitors, and by avoiding snooze consumption outside opening times;
- cost reduction by an automated operation. Online follow-up allows early detection and prevention of defects.
